Check-ins on PeopleCues

User can set a weekly check-in cadence to discuss OKR progress.

A Check-In is a regular update on an OKR’s progress, allowing users to track performance, reflect on progress, and share qualitative insights.

Check-Ins help:

  • Measure current progress against defined metrics.

  • Provide a status update to indicate whether an OKR is on track.

  • Capture qualitative feedback to give context on challenges or achievements.

  • Keep teams and managers aligned and informed throughout the OKR cycle.

Tip: Regular check-ins make it easier to course-correct, celebrate wins, and maintain transparency across the organization. PeopleCues recommends making active checkins every 15 Days.

How to Provide a Check-In

  1. Open Check-In:

    • Click New Update either on the hover dialog box or on the details page (right-hand side of the graph).

  2. Fill in the Details:

    • Progress / Current Metric Value – Enter the current value for metric-based OKRs.

    • Status – Select the status that reflects your progress (see status definitions).

    • Qualitative Notes – Add a brief judgment on how this OKR is going.

Note: Status and progress are independent; one does not automatically affect the other.

Notes for Metric OKRs

  • Success metrics is the leading indicators to measure progress.

  • Progress is automatically calculated:

Progress % = (Current Value - Start Value) / (Target Value - Start Value)

  • Color Indicators:

    • Green – Above expected progress (based on time elapsed)

    • Red – Below expected progress
