# Annual Objectives

Annual Objectives help organizations stay focused on long-term goals while executing them systematically through quarterly OKRs. They provide a strategic anchor that connects high-level priorities with quarterly execution.

#### Enabling Annual Objectives

Annual Objectives are not enabled by default.

To enable them:

* Reach out to the PeopleCues Services team, or
* Write to **<support-cues@xto10x.com>**

Once enabled, **Annual Objectives** will appear alongside **Quarterly Objectives** in the cycle selection dropdown.

**Note:** Annual Objectives are **aspirational in nature** and are intended to provide strategic direction to leadership and the organization. They are **not included in the performance or review cycle** and should not be treated as evaluation criteria.

#### Creating Annual Objectives

* Switch to the **Annual Objectives** cycle from the dropdown.
* Create objectives with an **annual timeframe**.
* Add key results under these objectives to represent **high-level initiatives** that contribute to annual company goals.

There is **no limit** on the number of objectives that can be created in the Annual Objectives space.

#### How Annual Objectives Space Works

* The Annual Objectives space has a **distinct background** to differentiate it from execution cycles.
* Only the **All Objectives** view is available.
* **Summary Dashboard** and **Userboard** are hidden in this space.
* **Admins** can create annual company objectives.
* **All OKR users** can view annual objectives.
* Teams can also create their own annual objectives.

#### Aligning Annual Objectives with Quarterly Execution

Alignment helps connect long-term goals with quarterly execution, making it easy to track which quarterly objectives contribute to annual progress.

There are two ways to align annual objectives with quarterly cycles:

#### Option 1: Align Existing Quarterly Objectives

1. Hover over an annual objective and click **+ Align**.
2. For each quarter, click the **Align** button.
3. Select the relevant quarterly objective and click **Align**.

#### Option 2: Create and Auto-Align a Quarterly Objective

Use this option if a quarterly objective does not already exist.

1. Hover over an annual objective and click **+ Align**.
2. Click **Create & align objective** for the desired quarter.
3. Enter the objective details and click **Save**.

The objective will be automatically created for that quarter and aligned to the annual objective.

### After Alignment

* Hover over an annual objective to view all aligned quarterly objectives.
* You can unlink an aligned objective if needed.
* Alignment helps track contribution and plan future quarterly work more effectively.

#### Viewing Annual Alignment from a Quarterly Cycle

Yes, alignment is visible from quarterly cycles as well.

To view it:

* Click the **three-dot (⋮) menu** on a quarterly objective.
* Select **View alignment to annual**.
