A self-reviewer is an employee in an org who must fill their review cycle form to be accurately evaluated for their performance appraisal.
Self reviewers have the following functions in the review cycle, depending on the review cycle settings selected by the admin:

Select Objectives
Nominate Peers
Fill Self Review
