Using success metrics for OKRs

A strong OKR is always measurable. Success metrics define how progress is tracked and ensure outcomes are clear, objective, and comparable. PeopleCues supports a wide range of metric types, giving teams the flexibility to define success in the way that best fits their goals.

Since metrics can vary widely across teams and functions, it’s important to clearly define both the metric and its unit of measurement.

Common Types of Success Metrics

Revenue Metrics Revenue can be represented in different currencies or scales. Always specify the unit to avoid ambiguity. Examples:

  • Revenue ($)

  • Revenue (Cr)

  • Revenue (Mn)

Conversion Funnel Metrics Funnel metrics are typically tracked as percentages and should clearly indicate the funnel stage being measured. Examples:

  • Signed up users (%)

  • Users with requests (%)

  • Users with transactions (%)

  • Users with cancellations (%)

Volume Metrics (Traffic, Requests, Transactions) Large volume metrics are best expressed using scaled units for readability. Examples:

  • Website/App traffic (Mn)

  • Signed-up users (K)

  • Transactions (K)

NPS & Performance Metrics Custom performance metrics can use any relevant unit or range. Examples:

  • Net Promoter Score (NPS): −100 to +100

  • Reduce 99th percentile latency or load time (Sec) from X to Y
