This page tries to answer the Global search functionality on our tool.

What are our biggest use-cases which converge to Search as a solution/feature?

A user wants to search an OKR which could have any of the following properties:

• Owner

• Keywords (Objective title text)

• Teams

• Tags

Does Search apply within a quarter or across quarters?

For now, search will be nested within the quarter which means it will show OKRs for the current quarters only. One needs to move to a different quarter and search there for OKRs of that quarter.

How would the user know that Search is nested within a quarter?

Do we search in our check-ins, comments, descriptions - in short activity feed also?

No. To begin with we will only have search for OKR cards and everything on the card. We will have to make a local search which searches in the activity feed which will cover everything of that OKR.

What is the Search experience we want to give to the user?

Feature/Component Search

The order (output/display order) for all the local searches is alphabetical and this won't change as of now. We have local searches in place for the below use case.

• owner assignment

• teams assignment

• people tables (active/pending members)

• We need a local search for activity feed: This is not part of the roadmap yet.
