  1. Program Management

Working Principles

Principles agreed upon by the team for effective work.

Keep communication asynchronous

All project related communication should be as asynchronous as possible. In-person meetings or synchronous digital communication should be the exception, not the norm. Every bit of synchronous communication should add value on top of the pre-existing asynchronous communication.

Default to public communication

All project related communication should be kept public by default. Private conversations should really be private in nature, and should be minimised.

Line up work in parallel, not in series

Tasks should not be lined up in series, but should be parallel. Blockers on one task should not prevent the progress of work. Dependency on other individuals for answers and updates should be minimised.

Use common tools

Tools that have been agreed upon by the team should be the only tools used for communication and documentation. While it might be convenient to reach a teammate on a non-work related tool in the short term, tracking conversations becomes unsustainable in the long run.
